These unsung heroes have a profound understanding of film/television production, a thorough knowledge of fashion and costuming history, and an eye for creating exceptional visuals. Using various wardrobe elements and makeup, they bring the characters and narrative to life, appropriately expressing the mood, period, culture, and world.

Our speakers, MediaCorp Image Director Ms Poh Shae Ching, and award-winning Makeup Artist and Founder of The Artist Inc., Ms June Goh, will feed your image-nation by sharing how they masterfully characterise and transform individuals, and answer burning questions you may have about the industry.

About the Speakers

Ms Poh Shae Ching, MediaCorp Image Director

Poh Shae Ching has served at MediaCorp for over 25 years, with humble beginnings as a costume designer to a Senior Image Director where she manages a team of talented designers and stylists. With vast experience in research, sourcing, execution and imaging, she enjoys the visualisation of limitless possibilities when styling a character. Not just a visionary, she is also astute in ensuring practicality and comfort of the actor. She has dressed countless celebrities and her body of work includes television series such as A Quest to Heal, The Dream Makers, Little Nonya and more.

June Goh, Makeup Artist, Founder of The Artist Inc.

June Goh is an award-winning, multi-talented makeup artist whose experience ranges from special effects to commercial and beauty makeup. She is also the founder of The Artist Inc. - a company dedicated to raising the level of expertise and professionalism of make-up artistry on film and television. Her extensive repertoire includes serving as the Head of Makeup and Costume Technology at Universal Studios Singapore and Resorts World Sentosa, working with fashion giants and celebrities, and supporting commercial movie blockbusters like HBO Asia’s Folklore series, The Driver television series, Evolusi KL Drift 1 and 2, and Zombiepura.

About the Series

The Insider Series aims to broaden perspectives of the performing arts through enriching encounters with professionals from the local music, dance, theatre and film industry. This year’s film curatorial vision features character and narrative building through the use of makeup and costume.
