About this event

About the Workshop

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you create stylish accessories* using eyewear lenses sourced from Fukui, a region in Japan famous for its eyewear craftsmanship.

*Participants can choose to make either 1 hair clip OR 1 pair of earrings. Making both items or more than the stated quantity is not allowed.

Fukui has a long tradition of making glasses with great skill and care. The region blends old craftsmanship with new ideas to produce high-quality frames trusted by people around the world.

In this workshop, you’ll upcycle B-grade sunglass lenses from Fukui’s production process into either a hairpin or a pair of earrings. The lenses’ unique texture and clarity create stylish pieces that add a special touch to your everyday look.

Whether you love Japanese craftsmanship or enjoy making things with your own hands, this creative and sustainable workshop is a great chance to craft your own original accessory and connect to the tradition of eyewear making in Fukui.
