Inspirational life-affirming music-making is at the heart of the YST Conservatory. Centred in one of the world’s most dynamic countries, YST is uniquely placed to offer a distinct and powerful contemporary Asian voice.The Conservatory brings together a world-class faculty and facility to nurture students in performance, composition, production and engagement. Through our undergraduate, graduate, continuing education and youth offerings, we connect dynamically with the surrounding musical ecosystem. We host a vibrant performance calendar with around 200 concerts annually, featuring students and faculty alongside international artists. Our community engagement programme has extensive local and global reach. Students are supported to find their own artistic pathways through exchanges, festivals, competitions and projects. More broadly, our international networks further enhance the educational experience and ensure our continued evolution.

For twenty-five years the Miró has performed a wide range of repertoire that pays homage to the legacy of the string quartet while looking forward to the future of chamber music by commissioning new works and collaborating with some of today’s most important artists. Formed in 1995, the Miró Quartet has been awarded first prize at several competitions including the Banff International String Quartet Competition and Naumburg Chamber Music Competition; and in 2005, became the first ensemble ever to be awarded an Avery Fisher Career Grant. The Miró is quartet-in-residence at Chamber Music North- west in Portland, OR and Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival in Washington State. The Miró Quartet took its name and its inspiration from the Spanish artist Joan Miró, whose Surrealist works — with subject matter drawn from the realm of memory, dreams, and imagi- native fantasy — are some of the most groundbreaking, influential, and admired of the 20th century.TICKETING INFORMATIONOut of respect for the participants and other spectators, no children under 6 years of age will be allowed admission.* Please refer to ystmusic.nus.edu.sg for the latest event updates.
