Ramiro Ibáñez , the cult hero of Spain’s new wave is landing in Singapore for the very first time.
Spain has always been a land of extremes. Jagged coastlines battered by the Atlantic, granite peaks rising beyond Madrid, the blinding white of albariza soils under a southern sun.
For a long time, those voices of place were drowned out by the noise of mass production.
But today, a new generation of growers is turning back to the earth, and if you listen carefully, you can hear the land speaking again.
In Jerez, Ramiro Ibáñez has become one of the most eloquent interpreters of that voice. He digs deep into forgotten traditions, coaxing from his vineyards wines that taste as if they’ve been there for centuries, waiting to be heard.
On Saturday, 11 October, Ramiro will be with us in Singapore for a rare afternoon dedicated to this Spanish awakening.
We’ll begin with a seated masterclass – a journey through the pagos of Jerez – where subtle variations of the region's distinctive albariza soils give rise to astonishing differences in the glass.
Afterward, the doors will open to a walkaround tasting that broadens the canvas – featuring wines from friends and fellow revolutionaries like Comando G, Envínate, Muchada-Léclapart, Luis Pérez and Bufadors (Ton Mata).
This is not Spain as seen through glossy brochures or supermarket aisles – this is Spain as told by its stones, its soils, its winds and waves.
These are wines with dirt under their fingernails and a story to tell. Come taste them with us.
