About this event

Voices of Singapore Festival 2025 invites choristers to join us in our 2025 Virtuosi Festival Chorus Concert at the historic Capitol Theatre on Wednesday, 10 September 2025.

About

The Virtuosi Festival Chorus is an auditioned short-term choir formed specially for the VOS Festival, specially curated for experienced musicians, choristers, music teachers, and conductors who are passionate about choral excellence and collaborative music-making. The chorus will rehearse over four sessions, culminating in a performance at the festival’s finale concert. It will be led by our guest festival clinician Sanders Lau (Hong Kong), alongside VOS conductor Chong Wai Lun, offering a meaningful and challenging musical experience for all participants.

Sanders Lau is the founder and Artistic Director of NOĒMA, a newly established chamber choir that comprises some of the city’s finest choral singers. A much sought-after conductor, Sanders is ardent about nurturing the next generation of choral leaders. He has taught, adjudicated, and given masterclasses, workshops, lectures, and pre-concert talks for numerous institutions and organisations such as the Hong Kong Arts Festival, Macao Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Interschool Choral Festival, and Joint School Music Association. Choirs under his leadership have captured top prizes in local and international festivals and competitions, including two Gold Medals at the European Choir Games Grand Prix of Nations.
