Uncover the intriguing stories behind Kusu Island, also known as “Tortoise Island”. Visit the renowned Tua Pek Kong Temple and the revered Malay keramat shrines, where thousands of pilgrims gather each year for blessings of prosperity and good health. Get the exclusive opportunity to converse with the temple caretakers who will share insightful stories about this curious island. Beyond its spiritual importance, Kusu Island also boasts scenic lagoons, beaches, and rich cultural stories that will be shared during the tour!
The visit to Kusu Island begins with an introduction to its cultural and spiritual significance, setting the stage for an enriching experience. Participants will have the rare opportunity to listen to temple caretakers share captivating stories about the island, including the secrets of the child-wishing tree (求子树) and the eight Taoist deities that reside in the temple. Following this, a guided tour around the island will uncover more fascinating insights into its myths and traditions. The tour will conclude with a Q&A session, allowing participants to deepen their understanding of Kusu Island’s spiritual and historical legacy.

- Meet infront of the Security Counter, Marina South Pier (31 Marina Coastal Dr, Singapore 018988)
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the event for registration.
- Limited parking is available at Marina South Pier. We would strongly encourage you to take the public transport.
- Venue is not wheelchair accessible.
- The event will proceed rain or shine.
Who should come?
- Participants must be 13 years and above to participate.
What to bring?
- Participants should bring along an umbrella, hand sanitisers, insect repellent, and a bottle of water.
- Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably and wear covered shoes for hiking/trekking.
- Participants are encouraged to bring their own earphones (with a standard 3.5mm audio jack) because we will be using radio guides for the tour!
- Asthmatic individuals are encouraged to bring their inhaler.
- Individuals with seasickness should carry their medicine along.

- If you are feeling unwell or are unable to attend, please cancel your ticket. Registered participants who fail to turn up for any reason are required to pay My Community S$50. This is the true cost of the tour.
