About the workshop

Much has been written about the transformative potential of Blockchain and DLT: target use cases, expected outcomes, ways it will change the world, and so on. And in truth, DLT has the potential to change the world as much as the internet itself has, if not more. The goal of this session will be to give listeners an intuitive understanding of why that transformative potential is so strong by establishing its linkage to the world's first and oldest business requirement -- one we are still trying to solve

Prerequisites:

The talk assumes a wikipedia-level understanding of blockchain and DLT, but no specific advance preparation is required

About Areiel Wolanow

Areiel is an experienced business leader with over 25 years of experience in business transformation solutioning, sales, and execution. He served as one of IBM’s key thought leaders in blockchain, machine learning, and financial inclusion. Areiel has deep experience leading large, globally distributed teams; he has led programs of over 100 people through the full delivery life cycle, managing budgets in the tens of millions of dollars.

In addition to his delivery experience, Areiel also serves as a senior advisor on blockchain, machine learning, and technology adoption. He has addressed the G20 on financial inclusion, is currently an advisor to the UK Parliament on blockchain, and has worked with central banks and financial regulators around the world.

About Post Covid Hack

The COVID-19 crisis side-effects risk erasing decades of the progress of poverty alleviation and social impact initiatives while widening the income, gender, and digital divide. Unemployment, job precarity, and credit default rates are rising. We need to act now to accelerate the economic and social recovery process, reduce the post-COVID risks, and start building a society now which is better equipped for the “new normal”.

The Post COVID Hack hosted by Indorse and Coinsilium with our headline sponsor IOVlabs will create a bridge between hidden talents and teams and blockchain companies. The global hackathon, therefore, provides a platform to establish long term relationships and partnerships within the industry, further product and user adoption and develop incredible technologies.

Theme

The hack is split into two tracks, the Socio-economic Inclusion track, which includes use cases but not limited to such as Social ID & Reputation, Impact Investment & Crowdlending, Community Currency Issuance and Community Wallets. The second track is an Open Track, with use cases around Health, Gamification and Privacy & Security.
