Eco-Assets Uncovered offers a deep dive into the evolving landscape of biodiversity accounting, offsetting, and nature markets. In conversation with Ash Welch, Biodiversity and Nature Positive Lead at AECOM Singapore and one of the creators of the Singapore Biodiversity Accounting Metric, this session explores how we can quantify and integrate biodiversity into economic and development decisions. Ash will share insights from his work on designing nature-positive infrastructure, restoring degraded habitats, and piloting innovative approaches to biodiversity credits—such as the groundbreaking nature market project launched in Bintan in 2024. From accounting for natural capital to implementing effective offset strategies, we uncover how recognising nature as a critical asset is reshaping the future of sustainable development.
