Event description

Description

Just as digital revenues are picking up for news publishers, advertising – the wellspring which has traditionally funded free content and services across the Internet – is in grave danger of drying up. Recent 2015 figures show that globally, over 198 million people are now blocking ads, up 41 per cent from 2014, setting off alarm bells in publishers’ heads. Ironically, users, who install ad-blockers for a better viewing experience, are going to kill their favourite news providers slowly but surely.

  1. How can publishers make the user experience more enjoyable for their audiences without the intrusions and interruptions of irrelevant ads while maximising the potential yield and monetisation of their content?
  2. Just how serious and widespread is ad-blocking, and the other advertiser-turnoff, ad fraud?
  3. How reliable is your audience measurement data anyway – are phantom eyeballs being included in your web and mobile analytics?
  4. How can online publishers still make money from digital display and video content?
  5. Content Marketing and Native Advertising – is this where the future lies?
