About this event

Join The Winter Players, a new Singaporean theatre collective, for a free workshop on performing dramatic verse and poetry. This practical session aims to demystify the art of dramatic verse, with a special focus on the works associated with Shakespeare.

Delve into the history and evolution of verse as we share insights from esteemed literary sources such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, complemented by our own practice and education at LASALLE College of the Arts.

Whether you're a seasoned performer, a literary or theatre enthusiast, or simply captivated by the allure of spoken word, this workshop promises to be a rewarding experience. Embrace the opportunity this May to learn the art of reveling in, reading, and reciting sublime poetry and verse. Hurry, as spaces are limited – secure your slot today!

As a participant, we encourage you to acquaint yourself with a speech from Shakespeare's "As You Like It," Act 2 Scene VII, beginning with the iconic line "All the world's a stage." This speech will be among the verse and poetry analyzed during the workshop and is readily available online.
