Explore the fundamentals of cryptography, combining theoretical knowledge with engaging hands-on activities! You will explore historical ciphers, decode messages and utilise digital tools to create encrypted communications. Designed to foster critical thinking and technical skills, this workshop provides an accessible yet comprehensive introduction to encryption – the art of writing and solving codes. All participants are required to bring their laptops with Touchdesigner installed. <a href="https://derivative.ca/" title="https://derivative.ca/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Touchdesigner</a> is a free software available for non-commerical downloadable use on Mac and Windows operating systems. This workshop is a programme complementary to Portals, an innovative visual arts exhibition that bridges Singapore's wartime history with creative technology at the Battlebox. This workshop and Portals are programmes of cmd.exe ("command prompt"), a new platform that explores the convergence of heritage and creative technology. The exhibition runs from 28 March to 29 June 2025.
