About this event

In this artist talk and workshop, Dongyan Chen shares more about her artistic practice in moving images and insights into the development of her works in the PORTALS exhibition, Void Resonance and Drifting Signals. The brief introduction will be followed by a hands-on video editing workshop covering key techniques in concept development, shooting, and editing using Premiere Pro.

Participants are required to bring their laptops, with Premiere Pro (preferred), iMovie or Capcut installed. It is preferred for participants to attend the workshop with existing footage they wish to edit.

The workshop is open to anyone interested in creating video art, social media content, or passionate about producing videos for a variety of purposes. Participants are also encouraged to visit Portals earlier for the exhibition.

This workshop is a programme complementary to Portals, an innovative visual arts exhibition that bridges Singapore's wartime history with creative technology at the Battlebox. This workshop and Portals are programmes of cmd.exe ("command prompt"), a new platform that explores the convergence of heritage and creative technology.

The exhibition runs from 28 March to 29 June 2025. More details of the exhibition, and its public programmes can be found at cmdexe.art.
