Description
How do you write about sex? How do you begin to articulate intimacy on a page? And why is there so much bad sex writing out there? This workshop will equip participants with tools and tips to write poetry and/or prose about sex: the kind they have had, the kind they want to have and everything in between.
The workshop will consist of discussions and a lecture about the history and purposes of erotica and other writing about sex, as well as what makes good and bad sex writing. Participants will examine examples of poetry and prose about sex and as a class, will create a list of tips about what makes good and bad sex writing. Participants will learn about how good writing which respects and uplifts individuals and their bodies can be empowering. Students will also try their hand at writing a short sex scene or poem.
