The "Be a Kampong Hero" Workshop, a collaboration between SG Assist and First Responders LLP, aims to enhance the community's level of preparedness and responsiveness in emergencies. All Kampong Heroes will be encouraged to get to know their neighbours to build intra-community bonds, promote neighbourliness and help one another in emergencies.

In this awareness workshop, Kampong Heroes (community first responders) will be trained to observe signs and symptoms of critical medical conditions, as well as educated in basic first aid to manage common household injuries. This is to achieve early intervention to prevent escalation of medical situations.

Having someone in the community who has been trained in first aid and can quickly attend to patients makes all the difference. A Kampong Hero can simply be a vital pair of hands, or a provider of essential information to an ambulance crew when they arrive.
