Ever wanted to experience a day in the life of a field biologist? Join WWF-Singapore’s Wetland Watchers at Lim Chu Kang Nature Park and try your hand at collecting ecological data! This citizen science programme will provide participants with the chance to observe, document, and protect the rich biodiversity found in the newly-opened nature park. Learn how to identify animals such as birds and dragonflies, as well as the various field techniques used by scientists.
The collected data will be invaluable in contributing to the conservation of Singapore’s precious ecosystems. No experience is required - all we need is your enthusiasm and curiosity!
Important notes:
Only registered participants will be able to join the programme.
Each ticket is inclusive of 2-way bus transportation, an activity booklet, binoculars (on loan for duration of event), and 9% GST.
The entire programme is 2 hours 45 minutes long (9.00am to 11:45am), inclusive of bus transportation
Meeting point is at the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Visitor Centre (parking lots available). Bus transport to Lim Chu Kang Nature Park will depart sharply at 9.00am from the Visitor Centre.
At the end of the programme, participants will be dropped off at the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Visitor Centre.
Do wear comfortable attire, walking shoes and bring an umbrella, hat, water, insect repellent (if required).
The programme is suitable for individuals aged 12 years old and above. Those under 12 would need to be accompanied by an adult.
Please note that any payment made is only refundable if the request is made at least 48 hours before the session.
In case of heavy rains or thunderstorms, the walk will be cancelled for safety reasons and you will be notified 45 minutes before the walk starts (by 8:15am). WWF-Singapore will contact participants to arrange complimentary tickets for the session in the following month.
