Overview
The Yamaha Junior Piano Competition embodies Yamaha's educational philosophy, aiming to nurture the innate musical sensitivity within every individual and cultivate a love for creating and sharing music.
Established in 2016 in Japan, this competition is dedicated to empowering young pianists aged 15 and below. It provides a unique platform for participants to freely express their emotions through music, expand their musical horizons, and refine their skills. Recognizing the piano's rich history spanning over three centuries and its versatility in various musical genres, the competition stands out for its flexibility, allowing contestants to choose from a wide range of musical selections, including arrangements and pieces from diverse genres.
The overarching goal is to help participants enhance their expressive abilities in performance and develop their unique artistic identities as performers, aligning perfectly with Yamaha's commitment to music education and enrichment.
