How do you want to get there?
Topic #1: Introduction to 3D Printing
Students will begin the workshop by exploring the exciting world of 3D printing and understanding how this technology turns digital designs into real objects. Through interactive discussions and demonstrations, they will learn the core concepts of additive manufacturing, how it differs from traditional methods, and the basic components of a 3D printer. Students will learn about core 3D printing concepts such as the process of modelling -> slicing -> printing and post-processing
Topic #2: Live 3D Printing Demo
A live 3D printing demo will showcase how a printer builds an object layer by layer, helping students visualize how digital models come to life. They will also learn how to source open-source 3D models, use slicing software like Bambu Studio to prepare files, and understand how settings like infill, supports, and layers affect a print.
Topic #3: Hands-On Assembly of 3D Printed Wireless Mouse
The session will culminate in a hands-on experience where students assemble their own wireless mouse using 3D-printed parts and a mouse kit—bringing home both knowledge and creations made in class.
