Jo Chan, the Founder of Surya Yoga and Darren Chen, an experienced Yoga trainer graduated with Distinction of Excellence from Inspya Yoga Australia.

Total 4.5 hours 3-in-1 workshops includes:

1) In-motion Flow - 1pm-2:30pm (1.5 hour)

Explore the moment as we centre the mind, move the body, and dig into the rhythm of your breath. This practise is a great way to open up the body, embrace new opportunities and challenges while still providing plenty of time to stay grounded in your comfort zone. Get ready to take flight as we build the strength, knowledge and confidence to take your practice in a new direction.

2) Yoga Stick - 2:45pm-4:15pm (1.5 hour)

Yoga stick is a prop designed to help release muscular tension in the body as it works on smaller masses of muscles and those in deeper layers. It draws out joint mobility naturally available in your body. By awakening the deeper muscles, it helps realign your body axis, the basis of good posture and release tension around shoulders and hip joints. It is also an effecting tool to teach correct alignment in Yoga Poses.

3) Dharma Yoga Wheel - 4:30pm-6:00pm (1.5 hour)

This special class combines the use of a yoga wheel with traditional asanas. The yoga wheel is an effective tool designed to open up areas that are typically tight due to modern-day-living. It expands the chest and shoulders, stretches the hip flexors and rejuvenates the spine.

Josephine Chan’s profile

Jo Chan is the founder of Surya Yoga. She is a certified Yoga Instructor graduated from Yoga Arts Australia with more than 13 years’ teaching experience. Under the mentorship of Louisa Sear as well as various leading instructor across Australia, USA & India, Jo cemented her teaching skills by becoming a certified Prenatal Yoga Instructor which was under the guidance if Ann Davis from Bliss Baby Yoga, Australia.

Darren Chen’s profile

Darren Chen is an experienced yoga instructor graduated from Inspya Yoga (Bryon Bay Australia) since year 2005 with Distinction of Excellence in 200-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training. He has been heavily involved in co-pilot yoga teacher training classes and workshops regionally. His practice focus is fundamentally yoga postures linked with transition breath and sequence. As time goes along, he will modify the postures and sequence to more comprehensive integrating the learned routines with personal practice.
