YST x Elder: A Virtual Collaboration

Inspirational life-affirming music-making is at the heart of the YST Conservatory. Centred in one of the world’s most dynamic countries, YST is uniquely placed to offer a distinct and powerful contemporary Asian voice.The Conservatory brings together a world-class faculty and facility to nurture students in performance, composition, production and engagement. Through our undergraduate, graduate, continuing education and youth offerings, we connect dynamically with the surrounding musical ecosystem. We host a vibrant performance calendar with around 200 concerts annually, featuring students and faculty alongside international artists. Our community engagement programme has extensive local and global reach. Students are supported to find their own artistic pathways through exchanges, festivals, competitions and projects. More broadly, our international networks further enhance the educational experience and ensure our continued evolution.

Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music

YST Conservatory and the Elder Conservatorium of Music present a unique, live, online and cross-cultural collaboration.

ABOUT THIS EVENTYST Conservatory, National University of Singapore and the Elder Conservatorium of Music, University of Adelaide present a unique, live, online and cross-cultural collaboration featuring leading Australian didgeridoo performer William Barton, and supported by an eclectic mix of performers from both Conservatories, including erhu, tabla and saxophone in addition to the typical orchestral instruments. This innovative new work has been co-composed by composition students Connor Fogarty, Heng Li, Teresa di Fava and Likie Low and will be performed simultaneously in two geographic locations over 5000km apart. The work represents a meaningful cultural exchange between our two countries and aims to reflect our respective cultures. Despite our differences in geographical size, Singapore and Australia have many points in common, including our relatively close physical proximity and our positioning in the burgeoning economies of Asia. This performance is supported by the Australia Singapore Arts Group.TICKETING INFORMATIONTo help keep our community safe, here are the measures that we will be adhering to:• Up to 25 audience members will be allowed. • Only ticket holders who are fully vaccinated or exempted from Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS)* may be admitted.• *Exempted from VDS: Individuals who have recovered from a COVID-19 infection and are within 180 days of their first positive test result, individuals who are medically ineligible for COVID-19 vaccination, and children aged 12 and below.• All ticket holders must warrant that all vaccination and VDS information is correct when requested for disclosure.• All ticket holders must consent to the collection, use and disclosure of personal data in relation to the ticket holders’ vaccination and VDS data.• Out of respect for other concertgoers, no children under 6 years of age will be allowed admission.Do bring along your photo identification, and mobile device with the updated TraceTogether (TT) app or token for SafeEntry check-in.
