Best of Both Worlds: Zentangle Intermediate Course

Course Description

This Zentangle course is open to people who have taken at least 3 hours of training on the Zentangle method from a Certified Zentangle Teacher, understand the basic concepts of the method, and have experience drawing at least 8 tangles.

You get the best of both worlds in this intermediate course through learning to draw on both the white and black surfaces, as well as experience the passion and expertise of two Certified Zentangle Teachers, Samantha Lee and Wai Fong, who will be co-teaching this course. Sit back and enjoy!

The Zentangle Method is versatile and breath-taking. In this course, we will be moving into more complex techniques, using different materials to explore the many possibilities that the basic strokes of dots, lines, curves and orbs can take us.

Course Objectives (Topics Covered)

In this course, participants can expect to experience the following contents (may not be in the listed order)

· Learn more complex tangles to draw on round tiles

· Learn to draw on black surface

· Explore the endless variations of Reticula and Fragments

· Learn how to embed letters using the Zentangle method

· Explore Zentangle-inspired art

· Experience voice guided tangling

· Complete a Wheel of Tangles for future reference by the end of course

3. Learn to draw on black surface using white gel pens, and bring light into dark

4. Experience various projects integrating Zentangle method with other art forms

5. Learn and practice more than 20 tangles

6. Experience voice guided tangling

7. Integrate and reinforce tangling as part of living mindfully

8. Practice mindfulness using the Zentangle method

** All Art Materials are included

Participants to bring the following materials to class:

1) Sakura Micron black pen PN or 01

2) 2B pencil

3) Tortillion

4) Red pen


Course Fee: $320 |$64 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy*

*NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.

  1. In addition to NSA subsidy, course fee may be offset by SkillsFuture Credit (SFC).
  2. First, course participants are to make payment for the course through Brahm Centre Eventbrite page.
  3. They should claim with SFC before the course start date through the SkillsFuture portal. Click for steps to submit SFC claim.
  4. Brahm Centre will reimburse the amount that is successfully claimed upon receipt of the funds from SFC.


  • Please note that payments for courses are non-refundable.
  • There are no make-up lessons if you miss any session.
  • If you miss the first session, you are allowed to proceed with the course. However, the trainer is not obligated to do a recap during the second session.
  • If you miss both the first and second sessions, you will not be allowed to proceed with the course

Instructors; Wai Fong & Samantha Lee

Wai Fong is a Certified Zentangle Teacher, trained by the founders, Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, in the US. She teaches the Zentangle Method as a therapeutic tool for self-discovery. Wai Fong has a Ph.D. in linguistic anthropology and is particularly interested in inner-self communication. She is also an emotional management practitioner. Her in-depth knowledge and passion to share make her classes both beneficial and fun to attend.

Samantha Lee is a Certified Zentangle Teacher TM(CZT®) and Japan Pastel Hope Art Association Instructor. She started learning Zentangle® and Japanese Pastel Nagomi Art as a hobby in 2015 and fell in love with the method and discovered that she has an artistic flair. She discovers the inner calmness and joy while practicing these art forms. These art pieces are inspiring and at the same time joyful to those who see them.

Brahm Centre is a leading course provider of a wide range of science-based mindfulness programs to reduce stress and enhance well-being in today's fast paced world. Please note that all course registrations are NON-refundable. Transfer of selected mindfulness courses is subject to a $30 transfer fee and a $10 admin fee for a mindfulness make-up class. There are NO transfers or make-up classes available for all other courses.
