Echoes Across Generations: A Guzheng Legacy

A moving Inter-Generational recital through memory, mastery and musical rebirth

This recital offers a rare and powerful gathering of three generations of guzheng performers, united in a moving celebration of tradition, transformation, and the enduring beauty of the Guzheng.

First Gen

A poignant duet between teacher and disciple begins the evening with a reverent nod to the classical roots and sacred bond of musical lineage. Their performance of a classic work sets a tone of reverence and nostalgia, inviting listeners into the heart of the tradition.

Second Gen

The second generation steps forward, presenting contemporary pieces that reflect the evolving identity of the instrument. Drawing from both classical foundations and modern influences, their performance bridges past and present—showcasing the guzheng’s dynamic adaptability and timeless voice.

Third Gen

The youngest generation takes stage, bringing fresh energy and innovation to the performance. Combining training in the classical style with their own creative flair, they present experimental compositions and new works that push the boundaries of the guzheng, offering a glimpse into the future of this timeless tradition.

Together, these intergenerational performances weave a rich musical tapestry—honoring the legacy of the guzheng while celebrating its vibrant and evolving place in the modern world.
