BUDD UNIVERSAL
Budd is band that has existed, through numerous line-up changes, since the heady days of the early 90s, releasing four albums and three EPs that captured the thrilling sounds of grunge, stoner rock, punk, and hard rock.
Over the decades, different line-ups of Budd have toured nationally with bands such as Shellac, Fugazi, Clutch, and The Beastie Boys, performing at festivals including The Big Day Out, Livid, New Year's Revolution at the Dromana Drive-In, and at Fisherman's Wharf with Iggy Pop, Mudhoney, and Beasts Of Bourbon. Four of Budd’s records, originally released by Fellaheen Records, entered the ARIA's Alternative Top 20 charts.
Originally formed in Brisbane, the current Melbourne-based lineup, featuring original guitarist Jeremy Finlayson, drummer Cris Wilson (Warped, Hoss, Johnny Casino, Legends of Motorsport) and bassist Kez (Holocene, Autohaze, Sunset Strip, Magnolia Strip), have been playing together since 2023, performing material from the Naf, Ovit, Prana, and Jawa releases, as well as new works.
In 2025, the band released the 7" vinyl/digital single 'Banger', their first new music released in 16 years. Now, on its 30th anniversary, Budd are thrilled to revisit and re-release their essential 1996 four-track EP Ovit. Alongside Jeremy, the original recordings feature Jon Morris on drums and Ngakau Luke-Harris on bass.
Originally released in 1996 on CD, the EP is reissued for the first time on vinyl via Cheersquad Records & Tapes. It's available on limited-edition 12" coloured vinyl and black vinyl, available at selected retailers and via Bandcamp.

"Still known for riffs that just build and build, and then build some more, Budd shows are always guaranteed to be heavier than a preposterously populous pachyderm party." - Bad Batch
"Ovit is a four track fuck, a continual blissbomb of raw fuzz... Certainly one of this country's must see bands." - Twee Kitten
