Andrea Iannuzzi

Andrea Iannuzzi

Andrea Iannuzzi, born and raised in Rome, where he studied traditional art techniques, such as painting, sculpture and printmaking, as well as photography and video making, is currently based in Glasgow, where he studied contemporary art languages, and where he continues practicing fine arts, as well as photography and illustration, under different pseudonyms.

He has exhibited works across Italy, UK and the US. His work stems from his ongoing historical and anthropological research in the use of symbols, techniques and imagery from different cultural and historical sources, working primarily through drawing and painting, merging traditional and contemporary methods and materials.

Parallel to his art practice is a continuing research into the tools and materials of the tradition and their evolution into the contemporary practices. He hosts and leads workshops and courses to introduce contemporary artists to the techniques and tools of the craft, following the model of Italian Art Schools and Renaissance artist’s studios.
