Institute of Parks and Recreation Singapore
The Institute of Parks and Recreation Singapore (IPRS) is a professional body dedicated to the conservation and enhancement of the country’s parks and other recreational facilities. We are inspired by the beauty of natural surroundings in contrast with the modern backdrop of the city.
Formed in 1987, IPRS was an initiative of former commissioner Mr. Wong Yew Kuan, under the old Parks and Recreation Department of the Ministry of National Development. Since then, we have become an advocate in enriching the lives of Residents in Singapore and International Community beyond the shores through Parks and Recreational Hubs.
Our Vision with Five Prong Approach, Collectively within Grasp is For the World to:
-
Conserve Existing Nature Reserves and Parks,
-
Build more Parks for Health & Recreation,
-
Combat Climate change,
-
Heal & Balance the World Ecology for Fauna and Flora,
-
Make it a Better Place for Present & Future Generations of Entire Human Race.
