The Café SF
Located at 2369 Market Street, at the corner of Market and Castro St., The Café has been a cornerstone of the ever-evolving LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco's historic Castro district for nearly five decades. First opened in 1976 as The Café San Marcos, the venue was rebranded in 1992 as The Café and has since become a celebrated icon of nightlife and community in the district.
Since 1976, an estimated 2 million people have danced, celebrated, and created memories at The Café, together accounting for nearly 5 million visits, each one a testament to the bar’s enduring legacy in the community. Following its most recent remodel, The Café has solidified its status as the Castro’s go-to nightlife destination. As the largest dance venue in the neighborhood, boasting a max capacity close to 500 guests, The Café offers a vibrant and memorable experience with an energetic crowd, incredible music, dazzling performers, and enthralling FX and lighting systems, all while remaining an authentic neighborhood bar.
