BRAS BASAH LITERARY TRAIL
Join award-winning poet Dr Tan Chee Lay as he takes you on a literary journey through the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct, home to many of Singapore’s museums, historical monuments and cultural landmarks.
During the 90-minute trail, participants will get to explore independent bookstores in the area and enjoy intimate poetry readings by Dr Tan along the way. The trail begins at the National Library Building and includes the newly-revamped Raffles Hotel, an iconic 19th century building with a rich literary heritage.

This programme is presented by the Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC). The trail will be conducted in English and Mandarin.
About the facilitator:
Writer-artist Tan Chee Lay is Associate Professor of Chinese at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, with a PhD in Chinese literature from Cambridge University. He won the Golden Point Award, Young Artist Award, Singapore Youth Award, Dr Tan Tsze Chor Art Award, and NTNU Calligraphy Competition. He has published over 20 creative writing and academic books, including Landmark Poetics of the Lion City, which clinched him the 2018 Singapore Literature Prize.

勿拉士巴沙文化之旅
跟随得奖诗人作家陈志锐副教授一同在武吉士百胜区游走;一边听陈博士朗诵诗歌,一边了解勿拉士巴沙区的历史和文化地标。
行程将从国家图书馆开始,沿途经过不同的独立书店和刚翻修的莱佛士酒店——一个十九世纪建成,富有文化艺术气息且具有象征意义的建筑。
文化之旅会带你经过以下文化地标:
1. 国家图书馆
2. 百胜楼
3. 友谊企业
4. 新华文化事业
5. 城市書房
6. 新加坡莱佛士酒店
文化之旅长90分钟,以双语进行。

主持人
陈志锐副教授,剑桥大学汉学博士,南洋理工大学国立教育学院亚洲语言文化学部副主任。曾获新加坡文学奖、金笔奖、方修文学奖、青年艺术家奖、全国杰出青年奖,陈之初美术奖等。撰写并主编华文创作、中英文学术论著逾20种。
