About this Event
The night stand is a wonderful project to learn furniture construction. You will start with rough sawn planks and end with a beautiful night stand (435 x 280 x 650mm) that you’ll be so proud to show off to family and friends. is perfect for bedside companion while it can hold precious items in the drawer and cupboard.
In the process, you’ll learn carcass construction, drawer construction, and frame and panel door construction. You will also learn how to join wood along its edges to make wider planks, dovetail joint, and dado joint. With this knowledge and a bit of practice, you’ll be able to construct your own cabinets. This course covers the following:
Machines Used in Workshops:
Mitre saw, Jig saw, Jointer/ thicknesser, Table saw, Router, Trimmer, Drum sander, Drill press, Orbital sander
Time Commitment: Approximately 4 to 5 sessions, 3 hours each. You can come as often as you want within 30 days from the first day to finish your project. Each evening session runs from 7pm to 10pm (3 hours) on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The date reflected are for the first day of class ONLY. The rest of the class is by prior appointment, so students can come once a week for class or twice a week to accelerate the project
