About this event

The Mindfulness for Sleep Wellness Course is an 4-week course grounded in science and designed to improve your sleep quality. You will learn the science of healthy sleep, how this is affected by stress and why healthy sleep is important for us to perform at our best in the day. You will be introduced to the art of sleep through the understanding of the fundamental principles of mindfulness and techniques to start your journey in sleep wellness.


Who is this course for: People who are enthusiastic about sleep health and want practical ways to improve it.


Dates: 8, 15, 21 (Tuesday), 29 May 2024 (4 sessions on Wednesday. Note that 22 May is a public holiday)

Time: 7:00 - 8:30pm

Trainer Bio:

Mr. Eric Lim is the Co-Founder of Somnus Sleep Wellness. He is the 2nd Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teacher in Singapore, conferred by the Mindfulness Center at Brown University School of Public Health, in collaboration with UMASS Memorial Health Care’s Center for Mindfulness.

From 2014-2023, he spearheaded Brahm Centre’s curriculum development and research on mindfulness, and was also the Head of Systems. He has worked with over 10,000 individuals of all ages and delivered mindfulness workshops and talks to professionals from the education, government, financial, and social service sectors. In 2017, Eric was awarded the Young Model Caregiver (Merit) Award by AWWA as well as a Social and Health Manpower Development Programme Fellowship by the Ministry of Health.

Dr Julian Lim is the Co-Founder and Lead Sleep Psychologist at Somnus Sleep Wellness. He graduated with a PhD in Psychology with Clinical training from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010 and has conducted psychological research for over 20 years.

From 2015-2022, he was Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and subsequently at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore. During this time, he pioneered mindfulness-based treatments to improve sleep health in Singapore and led an initiative to increase public awareness of these treatment options.

Dr Lim is regarded internationally as an expert in mindfulness and sleep, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications and a position on the editorial board of the scientific journal Mindfulness. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Sleep and Cognition at the National University of Singapore.
