"Love is the real inner protection against suffering."
- Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

Everybody around the world has heard of Buddhist loving-kindness meditation (sometimes known as “metta” meditation), and numerous studies have proven the benefits of training our mind in this profound practice. Buddha called loving-kindness “the great protector,” explaining that when our mind has the nature of love we naturally feel happy and peaceful, and we are naturally protected from negative mental states such as depression, anger, irritation and jealousy, regardless of our external circumstances.

With a mind pervaded by loving-kindness our good qualities naturally improve, barriers we have towards others are easily dissolved, and our empathy and feelings interconnectedness increase. There is no more powerful method for solving our problems and finding happiness than the practice of loving-kindness — it is the very foundation for the attainment of enlightenment.

During this 3-class, Gen Rabka will guide us through a simple, step-by-step approach to integrating loving-kindness practice into our modern, daily lives. We will explore the initial steps in cultivating loving-kindness, how to deepen the practice, and effective strategies for overcoming common obstacles that may arise along the way.

You are welcome to join this series any week regardless of experience. Everybody is welcome!
