About this Event

Join us for our Parenting Seminar Series where Dr. Michael Carr-Gregg and Dr. Natalie Games will explore the five great challenges of parenting in 2019. This talk is designed to prepare parents for the challenges we face in 2019 by providing practical tips and strategies from the applied psychological research. What every parent needs to know about millennial parenting, covering alcohol, online safety, sleep and other key issues.

Dr. Michael Carr-Gregg is one of Australia's highest profile adolescent and child psychologists. He currently works within private practice as well as consulting to Inowell a joint project between PWC, the University of Sydney and the Federal Government. He wrote his PhD at the University of NSW on Adolescents with Cancer and named and founded Can-Teen more than 30 years ago with a group of young cancer patients. He has worked as an academic, researcher, and political lobbyist. He is also the author of 15 books and is an Ambassador for Smiling Mind, Big Brothers Big Sister, and sits on the Board of the Family Peace Foundation and the National Centre Against Bullying. He is a columnist for a number of publications including the Huffington Post, Girlfriend Magazine and the Australian Boarding Schools Association publication LightsOut. Michael is the resident parenting ex-pert on Channel 7's Sunrise, a psychologist for Channel 9’s Morning Extra, as well as the Morning Show with Neil Mitchell on Radio 3AW. He is married with 2 sons and is a special Patron of the Hawthorn Football Club.

Dr. Natalie Games began her career in Education, working as a teacher in the classroom and then as a Head teacher, before pursuing her interest in psychology. While continuing to work in schools, Natalie earned her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology where she now works across the lifespan with children, adolescents, adults and families in private practice at Alliance Counselling in Singapore. Natalie has subsequently completed postgraduate studies with the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Youth Mental Health in collaboration with Orygen, The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health, Australia to draw upon the latest theory, research and evidence-based approaches in the youth mental health field to inform her practice. Natalie has contributed to two book chapters in the title “Anxiety in Preschool Children: Assessment, Treatment and Prevention”, numerous magazine, newspaper and journal articles about children and adolescent well-being. Natalie also works in academia and psychological research. Natalie is registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is married with two daughters.
