An art walkthrough of the exhibition Wild Fragments at Maya Gallery. A solo exhibition by Valerie Ng, where her observations of fragments of nature connect with experiments in eco-friendly art making.
Followed by a Conversation with a panel and the audience who are interested in the artistic process and a discussion on creative responses to a greener art practice.
While questioning the sustainability of producing and consuming art which can be contradictory to eco-friendly issues. Can we still make a conscious effort towards a new model of artmaking?
The exhibition includes abstract paintings, sewn and paper mache pieces with digital augmented reality artworks. The curator will walkthrough insights into the environmental reflections of the artworks and natures' inspiration behind the paintings.
Explore the pathways of this exhibition to discover a greener perspective to art and greater appreciation of the natural world. Supported by National Arts Council and curated by Vanessa Yeo, Wild Fragments will run from 2 to 30 July 2022 at Maya Gallery.
