Event Information
About this event
Forgiveness is the conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or revenge toward a person or group who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness.
Easier said than done, you may say, and you are right.
In this session, we will explore some concepts and misconceptions about forgiveness, the need for forgiveness, and to shed some light on how self-compassion can support anyone who may be ready to for the process of forgiveness.
Participants will also learn about the self-compassionate approach to forgiveness, a process developed by Dr Chris Germer (co-creater of the Mindful Self Compassion program). Dr Germer has distilled this process down to a manageable reflective process so that we can try to begin to ease in the direction of forgiveness. It is a process of unfolding where you are invited to be curious and attentive to your needs as you go along.
